The Teltonika RUTX10 is a non-cellular industrial router with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and built-in Bluetooth Low Energy. What is the RUTX10 used for?

Where a site already has fibre or a fixed line, the RUTX10 collects readings from BLE sensors and beacons and pushes them to your platform over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. A single router handles up to 200 sensors, covering temperature, humidity, movement and open or close events. Data goes to any MQTT broker or HTTP endpoint through the RutOS Data to Server feature, so you are not tied to one cloud.
Warehouse and yard asset tracking
Fix a RUTX10 at points across a warehouse or depot that has wired backhaul, attach BLE beacons to pallets, cages and forklifts, and track them without dedicated location hardware. Because beacons broadcast rather than pair, each router reports the beacons it can hear, which supports basic zone-based positioning across a floor.
Secure edge router for wired offices and back-of-house
The RUTX10 works as a compact edge router for a shop back office, a small site or a plant room. It terminates site-to-site VPN tunnels, segments traffic with VLANs, and reports into Teltonika RMS alongside your cellular routers, so wired and mobile sites sit in one management view.
Managed Wi-Fi with wired and Wi-Fi failover
Run the RUTX10 as an access point and use its wired WAN as primary with Wi-Fi WAN as backup, or the reverse. RutOS handles the failover between them once configured, which keeps a wired site online when the main link drops.
USB and serial expansion node
The USB 2.0 port adds storage over Samba, USB-to-serial for legacy equipment, or an external drive for logging. This turns the RUTX10 into a small, RMS-managed gateway for equipment that speaks serial rather than Ethernet.
Pro tip
Treat the Bluetooth antenna as a first-class part of the install, not an afterthought. The RUTX10 has a separate RP-SMA connector for BLE, so if you are gathering sensor data across a large floor or from inside a metal cabinet, swap the bundled stub for a higher-gain Bluetooth antenna and mount it in clear space. In dense racking or metal enclosures, reliable BLE range drops to around 10 to 15 m, so antenna placement matters more than the open-field figures suggest. One more point to plan for: the RUTX10 has no modem, so if the site has no fixed line you will need a cellular router for backhaul, or one of the cellular Bluetooth models instead.
