The Router Store was founded to solve a very practical problem: reliable internet where fixed lines fail. Long before 4G and 5G became mainstream, we were supplying cellular routers to businesses, installers, and engineers who needed dependable connectivity in places where broadband simply was not an option.

From the outset, our focus has been clear. We specialise in industrial and professional-grade cellular networking, not consumer gadgets. That philosophy still defines everything we do today.

Our history: from 3G to 5G and beyond

We launched as 3G Router Store at a time when 3G cellular was the most viable option for remote sites, temporary installations, and business continuity links. We built our reputation supplying purpose-built routers, external antennas, and SIM solutions that actually worked in the field.

As networks evolved, so did we.

  • We expanded into 4G LTE as it became the backbone of business-grade mobile connectivity
  • We supported the transition into LTE-Advanced, Cat-6, Cat-12 and Cat-18 hardware
  • We now supply a full range of 5G routers, including industrial, enterprise, and edge-use models

Throughout each generation change, our role has stayed the same: cut through marketing claims, explain the reality, and deliver working solutions.

A new name. The same team.

In March 2026, we rebranded from 3G Router Store to The Router Store, moving to routerstore.com.

The name changed. Nothing else did.

  • “3G” no longer reflects what we supply or the networks we work with
  • We now cover 4G, 5G, IoT, edge networking, and secure remote access
  • The new name is technology-agnostic and built for the long term

Antennas and signal optimisation

Connectivity is only as good as the RF design behind it. We provide external cellular antennas, MIMO antenna systems, and placement guidance to help customers achieve stable, usable performance rather than chasing theoretical speed figures.

IoT, M2M and roaming SIM cards

We offer data SIM solutions for business and machine-to-machine use, including:
