The Teltonika RUT901 (RUT901000600) is a compact industrial 4G LTE Cat 4 router with dual SIM, four Ethernet ports, and Wi-Fi. It is the direct successor to the RUT950 and RUT951. The defining capability of the RUT901 is automatic SIM failover. Two Mini SIM slots can switch between any two mobile networks based on signal strength, data limits, roaming status, or connection failure. No manual intervention is needed. The WAN port accepts a standard broadband connection via Ethernet. When that connection fails, the RUT901 switches automatically to 4G LTE. This failover is transparent to devices on the LAN. Industrial Automation and SCADA Telemetry

The RUT901 supports Modbus TCP Master and Slave, DNP3 outstation, and MQTT broker. Does the RUT901 support dual SIM?

Yes. The RUT901 has two Mini SIM (2FF) slots with external holders on the front panel. SIM switching is automatic and configurable across seven trigger conditions: weak signal, data limit, SMS limit, roaming, no network, network denied, and data connection failure. Both SIM slots are active simultaneously for monitoring; only one carries data at a time.

What is Teltonika RMS and is the RUT901 compatible?

Teltonika RMS (Remote Management System) is a cloud platform for monitoring, configuring, and updating Teltonika routers remotely. The RUT901 is fully compatible. What SIM card do I need for the RUT901?

The RUT901 takes Mini SIM (2FF) format in both slots. A SIM adapter kit is included in the box for Micro or Nano SIMs. For most applications requiring remote access or inbound connections, a fixed IP SIM is recommended – standard SIM cards sit behind carrier-grade NAT which blocks inbound connections. Is the passive PoE on the RUT901 compatible with standard PoE switches?

No. The passive PoE input on LAN1 operates at 9-30 V DC via spare pairs (Mode B). It is not compatible with IEEE 802.3af (48 V), 802.3at (48 V), or 802.3bt standard PoE. Connecting a standard PoE switch or injector operating at 48 V will damage the router. Use a passive PoE injector matched to 12 V or 24 V DC only.

Does the RUT901 support VPN?

Yes. RutOS includes OpenVPN (client and server, 27 encryption methods), IPsec (IKEv1/IKEv2, 14 encryption methods), WireGuard, ZeroTier, GRE, PPTP, L2TP, Stunnel, DMVPN, SSTP, and Tinc.
