Meet the Teltonika RUTM20, a genuinely compact industrial 5G router built for space-limited installs where you still want proper resilience and remote control. You get global 5G (SA/NSA) via a Telit modem, dual physical SIM plus integrated eSIM, and Active PoE in and PoE out, so you can power it (and power something else) via Ethernet when the job calls for it.

Why the RUTM20 exists

Most “5G routers” are chunky boxes designed for comms cabinets, not tight installs. The RUTM20 is built for the awkward real world: POS enclosures, kiosks, transport installs, compact CCTV comms panels, and modern kit where the router needs to disappear into the build while still behaving like a serious industrial device.

Connectivity that stays up

The RUTM20 supports 5G SA and NSA (Sub-6), with fallback to 4G LTE Cat 19 and 3G where needed. On top of that, it’s designed for uptime: two physical SIMs plus an integrated eSIM, with automatic SIM switching on common failure conditions such as weak signal, roaming events, data limit, network denial, or data connection failure. You can also use the eSIM to change carrier profiles remotely, which is the difference between a quick fix and a site visit.

Active PoE in and PoE out (the install simplifier)

This is one of the big reasons to choose RUTM20 over “standard” routers.

• PoE In (WAN port) lets you power the router via Ethernet.
• PoE Out (LAN port) lets the router power another device, ideal for compact installs where you want fewer PSUs and fewer failure points.

You still have a 4-pin industrial DC power connector as an alternative input.

Proper antenna connectivity (no gimmicks)

With 4 x SMA cellular antenna ports, the RUTM20 is built for real 5G/LTE MIMO deployments. In weak-signal areas, a correct antenna strategy matters far more than marketing claims. If you’re installing external antennas, do it properly: correct MIMO count, correct placement, correct cabling.

Wi-Fi and LAN

You get dual-band Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 (802.11ac) with MU-MIMO and up to 150 concurrent Wi-Fi users (useful for temporary setups, small sites, or local engineer access). For wired devices, the unit provides 1 x WAN + 1 x LAN Gigabit Ethernet.

VPNs, routing, and remote management

RutOS is feature-rich and built for managed deployments:
