EE Unlimited Data SIM for Routers and Mobile Broadband Devices
The EE Unlimited Data SIM is a data-only SIM card that gives routers, tablets, laptops, and mobile Wi-Fi hotspot devices unlimited access to EE’s 4G and 5G network. There is no monthly data cap and no speed throttling. It is available on 30-day rolling, 12-month, and 24-month contracts, making it a practical option for businesses that need a flexible mobile broadband connection without committing to a fixed-line installation.

What This SIM Is Used For
Construction Sites and Temporary Offices
Fixed broadband cannot be installed on sites that move or are short-term. An EE unlimited SIM in a 4G router provides reliable broadband for site cabins, welfare units, and temporary office containers from day one. EE’s 4G and 5G coverage reaches over 99% of the UK population, which covers the vast majority of construction sites.
Small Business and Office Backup Connectivity
Businesses that rely on a single fixed-line connection carry real downtime risk. An EE unlimited data SIM in a secondary router provides a live failover connection. When the main line drops, the router switches to cellular automatically. Teltonika routers support automatic WAN failover with zero manual intervention, keeping critical services online.
Retail Pop-Ups, Events, and Exhibition Stands
Pop-up retail units, exhibition stands, and event venues rarely have fixed-line access. An unlimited data SIM in a compact 4G router provides card-payment connectivity, stock management access, and staff communications without relying on a venue’s shared Wi-Fi.
Remote Workers and Field Teams
Field engineers, surveyors, and remote workers who need internet access at multiple sites benefit from a dedicated data SIM in a portable router or laptop. An unlimited plan removes any concern about running out of data mid-job.
Vehicles and Mobile Assets
Service vehicles, emergency response units, and mobile plant equipment increasingly carry data connections for job management software, telematics, and CCTV. An unlimited SIM in a vehicle-mounted router provides consistent connectivity wherever the vehicle operates on the EE network.
Rural Locations Without Fixed-Line Access
Many rural business premises cannot get FTTP or FTTC broadband at commercially viable speeds. EE’s 4G network, with 99.74% population coverage and strong rural coverage, provides an alternative. An unlimited plan avoids the cost management of capped data in a primary-connection role.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the EE unlimited data SIM work in a Teltonika router?
Yes. EE Business data-only SIMs work in Teltonika routers and other industrial cellular routers without modification. Set the APN to everywhere in the router’s mobile interface. Most Teltonika devices detect the EE APN automatically on first connection. If you buy a router and SIM together from us, we can advise on the exact configuration for your model.
What APN do I need for an EE data SIM in a router?
The standard EE data APN is everywhere. This applies to both consumer and business data-only plans. On Teltonika RutOS, you can enter this under Network > Mobile > APN. If your SIM does not connect automatically, entering the APN manually resolves the issue in most cases. Call us on 0300 124 6181 if you need help with the setup.
Is there a fair use policy on EE unlimited data?
EE unlimited plans are subject to EE’s fair use policy, which is designed to prevent abuse rather than restrict normal business data use. Typical business use – browsing, cloud applications, video calls, software updates – is unaffected. Very high sustained throughput intended to circumvent the network terms is outside the scope of fair use. If you have a specific high-bandwidth deployment in mind, call us to discuss whether this SIM type or a specialist IoT SIM is the better fit.
What is the difference between this SIM and an IoT SIM?
This is an EE Business mobile broadband SIM, suited to standard office, vehicle, and temporary site use. An IoT SIM is an M2M SIM with features designed for always-on industrial deployments: fixed public or private IP addresses, private APN, multi-network roaming across EE, O2, Vodafone and Three, and long lifecycle terms. If you need a fixed IP address for CCTV, ANPR, remote access, or VPN, an IoT SIM is the correct product. If you need unlimited data for standard business use in a router or device, this SIM is the right choice.
Does this SIM give me a fixed IP address?
No. This SIM uses a dynamic IP address assigned by EE’s mobile broadband network. The IP address changes each time the device reconnects. For applications that require a static, reachable IP address – CCTV access, remote desktop, VPN gateway, or any service that needs inbound connections – you need a Fixed IP SIM instead.
Can I get EE 5G speeds with this SIM?
Yes, provided your router or device supports 5G and you are in an area with EE 5G coverage. EE’s 5G network currently covers 86% of the UK population and is expanding. Routers such as the Teltonika 5G range will connect to 5G where it is available and fall back to 4G automatically outside 5G coverage areas.
