Battery Backup
The EV8100 has an integrated UPS built in. It is not just a battery holder. When mains power fails, the device switches to battery automatically and keeps running without interruption.
With two 18650 batteries installed, you get 8 or more hours of backup. That is enough to cover most power outages and meets the requirements of EN 81-28, the European standard for elevator emergency communication.
When mains power is restored, the batteries recharge automatically. No manual intervention is needed.
What you need to know before buying batteries
- The EV8100 only accepts 18650 flat-top lithium batteries. Button-top cells will not seat correctly.
- Batteries are not included as standard. They are widely available from electronics suppliers.
- There are two battery slots. If you are installing a single battery, it must go in position 1.
- Using the wrong battery type or installing incorrectly will void the warranty.
Remote power loss alerts
The EV8100 connects to Robustel’s RCMS cloud platform. If a power failure occurs, RCMS sends an alert so your team knows immediately. You can also monitor battery status remotely without visiting the site.
