Do I need a fixed IP SIM card to use the Milesight Development Platform with a router?
No. The Development Platform connection from the router to the cloud does not require a fixed IP. The router initiates the outbound connection to the platform using the authentication code. However, if you also need direct inbound access to the router or to connected equipment (for VPN tunnels or direct IP access), a fixed IP SIM card gives the device a stable, publicly routable address.
